Former Kentucky Department of Workers’ Claims Commissioner Dies

Walter W. Turner passed away at the age of 73 on Monday, February 4, 2019. Turner was the Commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Workers’ Claims from 1994 until 2001.  Prior to that he had been a Kentucky workers’ compensation administrative law judge and a member of the Kentucky Workers’ Compensation Board.  Turner was living in Knoxville, Tennessee at the time of his death.  A celebration of life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 9th at Cokesbury United Methodist Church (9919 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 39722). The family will receive friends prior to the celebration at 1 p.m. The family requests that all donations be made to the church in lieu of flowers.
