Ky Judicial Ethics Commission on Judges and Facebook: Judges can have “Friends” too — Well, sort of

With the prevalence of social networking sites, a whole new area of ethical concern has been born — especially for judges .  Other jurisdictions have addressed the potential ethical danger facing adjudicators who maintain accounts from sites like Facebook, MySpace and Twitter, and the Kentucky Judicial Ethics Commission recently rendered its opinions on the issue. 

A recent Kentucky Judicial Ethics Opinion queried:  Can judges participate in internet-based social networking sites?  Answer: The hard and fast answer is a “qualified yes.”
